Aurora Borealis
The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) photographed inside the Arctic Circle in northern Finland by Max Pickering. The effect is caused by electrons and protons from the magnetosphere colliding with particles in the earths upper atmosphere. What causes the interesting patterns is winds circulating in the Earth’s outer layers.
